How to Keep Your Hair Healthy

Many people are willing to do or try anything to make their hair look good, but sometimes they forget to maintain the health of the hair itself. Sometimes there are some hair styling practices that can damage your hair. Here are several things related to your hair health:

  • An easy technique to check your hair health.

To check if your hair has been damaged or not, place your hair in a glass of water, allow a few moments while tapping on the edge of the glass to decipher the tension of the water surface. If the hair is drowned, it means the hair is damaged, while if the hair is floating it means your hair care is right. Another way to check your hair, you can use a microscope application on your smartphone, if the hair looks dry & porous means your hair is damaged

  • Spruce tangled hair.

Avoid hair tangles by applying conditioner to the sidelines of hair by using a wide tooth comb. Leave on for 3 minutes then rinse your hair.

  • Brush and comb your hair rarely.

Brushing and combing hair too often can attenuate your hair protective layer. Ideally, comb your hair using a wide tooth comb. Combing hair should also be done on the condition of the hair is not wet, because combing wet hair can trigger hair loss.

  • Use conditioner regularly.

A silicone-based conditioner serves as a lubricant, it prevents dryness and damage to the epidermis in every strand of hair. Be careful, sometimes the use of long-term conditioners can make your hair coarse and thin because of the buildup of silicone. If this case happens, use a neutralizing shampoo.

  • Dry up your hair slowly.

Dry your hair using a towel or wrap it in a towel for about five minutes. It’s better for you to not rubbing your hair because rubbing hair too hard can damage your hair cuticle.

  • Avoid exposure to sunlight.

Ultraviolet light can damage keratin of hair, making it curly and easily fall out. To protect against these risks, avoid too much sunlight. If the situation requires your hair to be exposed to the sun, use a sunscreen sprayer for hair.

  • Eat a balanced diet.

What you eat can have a major impact on the condition of your hair, your skin and even other parts of your physical appearance. A well-balanced diet is a menu consisting of a variety of foods in appropriate portions, sufficient to meet one’s basic nutritional needs. Basic nutritional needs for each person is different, depending on age, gender, and activity.

  • Steps to do if your hair is already damaged.

If your hair has been damaged, use an intensive conditioner once a week, use conditioner and cover your hair with a warm towel to keep the moisture and leave the conditioner for about 15-20 minutes then rinse it.
